Sayyid Al-Hakeem Commends Shaheed Al-Mihrab Processions Authority Efforts, Highlights Giving Spirit during Arbaeen Pilgrimage

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, praised the significant services provided by Shaheed Al-Mihrab Husseini Processions Authority in supporting the Arbaeen pilgrimage and serving the pilgrims of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), during a meeting with a group of organizational leaders of Al-Hikma National Movement in Baghdad. His Eminence noted that these efforts reflect the deep-rooted culture of generosity and sacrifice that distinguishes the people of the Homeland.
H.E. highlighted the profound historical dimension of the Arbaeen pilgrimage, recalling the harsh stages it endured, where the faithful paid heavy prices, including amputations. H.E. emphasized that Martyr Al-Mihrab (may his secret be sanctified) was sentenced to life imprisonment because of his stance on this pilgrimage—an indication of the immense sacrifice and steadfastness in upholding principles.
H.E. explained that Iraq has witnessed a major transformation, with halls once used for repression now dedicated to organizing services and facilitating the pilgrimage, making Arbaeen a global model of management and organization, and a source of inspiration for other mass gatherings worldwide.
H.E. further called for reflection on the remarkable diversity of the pilgrimage, which welcomed pilgrims from 96 countries, each becoming a messenger carrying the story of Iraqi generosity, hospitality, and capacity to organize such an extraordinary event.
H.E. stressed the importance of highlighting acts of giving—especially those offered by children—and cautioned against focusing on limited individual behaviors, urging instead to preserve the essence and profound symbolism of the occasion.
On political and organizational matters, H.E. underscored the need to intensify efforts to address challenges and build positive public opinion that serves citizens, noting Iraq’s success in adopting a policy of moderation in handling regional conflicts without direct involvement.
H.E. affirmed that genuine electoral success lies in adhering to moderation and centrism, given their power to attract voters despite temptations offered in some electoral arenas. H.E. urged going into the field, mobilizing close circles, strengthening presence on social media platforms, moving beyond discouragement, and focusing on the importance and sensitivity of the current stage.
