Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives Sheikh Mohammed Mohaqiq, Praises Iraqi People’s Role in Arbaeen Pilgrimage Success
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received this morning Sheikh Mohammed Mohaqiq, Secretary-General of the Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan, along with his accompanying delegation. His Eminence welcomed the guest and congratulated him on performing the rituals of the blessed Arbaeen pilgrimage.
H.E. affirmed that Arbaeen, once considered a crime punishable by imprisonment or enforced disappearance under the former regime, has today become a global event attracting millions from different nations, whether followers of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) or others—reflecting the depth of faith and the far-reaching spiritual impact of this occasion.
H.E. expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the pilgrimage, praising the generosity and dedication of the Iraqi people, who hosted more than 21 million pilgrims with their own resources along the roads leading to Karbala, in a unique display of selflessness and devotion.
H.E. also stressed the importance of facilitating the entry of Afghan pilgrims wishing to take part in this event, calling for safeguarding the rights of Ahl Al-Bayt followers in Afghanistan and granting them sufficient space to freely and safely express their beliefs and opinions.
H.E. concluded by affirming that Iraq is experiencing an unprecedented state of stability—thanks to Allah Almighty, the guidance of the supreme religious authority, and the sacrifices of the proud Iraqi people, who have proven their ability to defend their homeland and their determination to continue on the path of reconstruction and development.
