    Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets UN SRSG, Stresses Informed Electoral Participation

    Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Iraq, H.E. Dr. Mohammed Al-Hassan, and discussed with him the latest political developments in Iraq and the region, along with ways to strengthen ties between Iraq and the United Nations. 
    His Eminence highlighted the stability achieved in Iraq through the sacrifices of its people, their resilience in the face of crises, and their determination to advance the nation’s standing. H.E. affirmed that the upcoming elections represent a critical juncture for moving from fragile stability to lasting stability in the interest of Iraq and the wider region. 
    H.E. called for broad, effective, and informed participation in the electoral process, stressing the need to choose the most qualified candidates from capable lists, safeguard electoral security, and uphold both the right of candidates to express themselves and the right of voters to choose freely. H.E. further emphasized the need to confront the use of political money in election campaigns.
