Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets “Israr Gathering” Supporters, Stresses Electoral Awareness, to Combat Negative Phenomena
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with several supporters from the “Israr Gathering” in Baghdad, where His Eminence renewed condolences on the anniversaries of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein and Imam Zain Al-Abidin (peace be upon them) and expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident that struck the beloved province of Wasit.
In his remarks, H.E. highlighted the role of Imam Zain Al-Abidin (peace be upon him) in instilling hope and transforming the moral reality of the Ummah despite difficult circumstances and strict surveillance, using supplication and tears to immortalize the tragedy of Karbala and remind generations of what befell his father, family, and companions.
H.E. stressed the need to overcome societal frustration, calling for firm action against negative phenomena such as rising divorce rates, drug abuse, and the spread of deviant ideas, emphasizing the importance of adopting modern methods in addressing these challenges. H.E. explained that moderation is a comprehensive approach that establishes political stability, which in turn leads to social and security stability, paving the way for economic recovery and revitalizing reconstruction efforts—processes that enhance public satisfaction and strengthen trust in the state and political system.
H.E. also underlined the importance of choosing the most competent, capable, and empathetic candidates—those with honorable records and active roles in resolving issues—stating that a candidate’s merit is measured by their closeness to the people and responsiveness to their needs, both before and after elections.
H.E. reiterated his call for continuous engagement with citizens and broad, conscious, and effective participation in the upcoming elections, stressing that the real electoral standard is selecting “the right candidate within the right list.” H.E. also cautioned against overlooking the scale of funds spent by some candidates compared to the salaries and benefits they receive, which raises serious questions about their intentions and objectives.
