Sayyid Al-Hakeem Discusses Strengthening Bilateral Ties, Emphasizes Iraq’s Sovereignty, Stability with French Ambassador

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, received the French Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Patrick Durel, in Baghdad for talks on advancing bilateral relations between Iraq and France in ways that serve the shared interests of both nations.
During the meeting, H.E. underscored the importance of safeguarding Iraq’s sovereignty and protecting its national interests, voicing support for governmental efforts aimed at achieving these goals.
On regional developments, H.E. noted that Iraq—through its government and political forces—has made considerable efforts to distance its territory from escalating regional tensions. H.E. also reiterated his condemnation and rejection of the Israeli attacks on the Islamic Republic of Iran, Lebanon, and Palestine.
H.E. affirmed that Iraq is currently experiencing a period of political, security, and social stability, and is steadily moving toward a lasting stability that meets the aspirations of its people. He also highlighted the significance of the upcoming elections, describing them as a decisive step toward a new phase in Iraq’s democratic journey. H.E. called on all Iraqis to engage widely and consciously in the electoral process to strengthen democracy and support overall national stability.
