Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives PUK Delegation, Stresses Commitment to Stability, Constitutional Framework
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, received a delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) headed by Mr. Nizar Amidi and Minister of Justice Mr. Khalid Shwani. The meeting focused on the latest political developments in Iraq and the broader region, as well as the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.
H.E. emphasized the shared responsibility of all political actors in maintaining the stability Iraq has achieved across political, social, security, and economic domains.
H.E. also called for full preparedness for the upcoming elections, highlighting the need for broad, effective, and informed participation from all Iraqis. He described the elections as a critical turning point—marking the transition from fragile to sustainable stability.
Regarding ties between Baghdad and Erbil, H.E. reaffirmed the importance of adhering to the constitution and existing legal frameworks. He stressed the need for mutual concessions in order to serve the greater national interest and strengthen unity across Iraq.
