Sayyid Al-Hakeem Stresses Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf’s Significance, Urges Local Governments Empowerment
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with the Governor of Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf, Engineer Youssef Maki Gannawi, to discuss the city’s current and future development and service projects.
His Eminence reaffirmed the unique religious and historical status of Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf, home to the shrine of the Commander of the Faithful (Ameer Al-Mu’mineen), Imam Ali (peace be upon him), as well as the resting places of several prophets and pious figures. It also holds the blessed Hawza and the Religious Authority, noting that this places an even greater responsibility on those serving the province.
H.E. praised the ongoing efforts to launch service-oriented initiatives and plan for upcoming projects, highlighting the importance of harnessing the province’s rich academic potential. H.E. called for closer cooperation with research and advisory centers to develop realistic and scientifically grounded solutions to the challenges facing the city.
H.E. once again urged that local governments be granted their full constitutional powers and financial entitlements to enable them to implement their development plans and strategic visions effectively.
