Sayyid Al-Hakeem Discusses Service Reality, Institutional Integration with Baghdad Mayor

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, received Engineer Ammar Musa, Mayor of Baghdad. The meeting focused on the state of public services in the capital and the need to strengthen coordination among government institutions—particularly between the local government and relevant ministries.
His Eminence emphasized the importance of sustaining reconstruction and development campaigns in Baghdad, especially in historic and archaeological areas that embody the city’s cultural and civilizational identity. At the same time, H.E. called for completing basic services in newly developed neighborhoods to ensure they are livable and aligned with the aspirations of residents.
H.E. underscored the value of integrated performance across state institutions, pointing out that Baghdad had previously suffered due to deteriorating security conditions, which caused significant service delays. H.E. stressed the need to overcome these accumulated challenges through coordinated developmental and service efforts.
H.E. also called for stronger collaboration between Baghdad’s municipality and academic institutions, highlighting the importance of drawing on Iraqi expertise through consultation and scientific research to tackle service-related challenges. H.E. further stressed the need for strategic solutions to transportation issues and chronic traffic congestion, which continue to burden residents.
In the same context, H.E. highlighted the importance of digitization within the operations of Baghdad’s municipal departments, noting that these institutions directly engage with citizens. H.E. affirmed that automation serves as an effective tool to enhance service quality, improve transparency, and increase administrative efficiency.
