Sayyid Al-Hakeem Discusses Diversity, Positive Coexistence Importance with Mandaean Community Head
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, received Sheikh Sattar Al-Hilu, Head of the Mandaean community in Iraq and the world. The meeting focused on the status of Iraq’s diverse components and their positive contributions to the enrichment of society.
His Eminence affirmed the significance of the Mandaean community and its respected position within Iraqi society, praising its major role in advancing science and culture through its scholars, figures, and active contributors across various fields.
H.E. emphasized the need to move beyond mere “peaceful coexistence” toward “positive coexistence and genuine integration” among the components of the Iraqi people. H.E. noted that effectively managing diversity is a source of strength for Iraq, offering broader opportunities for regional and international influence, particularly through the country's rich spectrum of communities that serve as bridges to neighboring states and the wider world.
H.E. also reiterated the importance of safeguarding fair political representation for all components, stressing that such representation must reflect their true social realities.
