Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Husseini Rites Reform Awareness Source, Must Be Shielded from Deviation
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, took part in the Fourth Annual Conference of Female Reciters of the Husseini Pulpit, which was attended by a large gathering of reciters and public speakers. H.E. extended his congratulations on the blessed occasion of Eid Al-Ghadir and offered condolences ahead of the arrival of the sacred month of Muharram. H.E. emphasized that both Al-Ghadir and the tragedy of Ashura carry profound messages of loyalty and sacrifice for the reform of the Muslim nation.
In his speech, H.E. stressed that the Husseini rituals form a lasting bond between the people and the cause of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), contributing to the development of integrated social, political, and religious awareness. H.E. described these rituals as “the largest service and social institution in the world,” highlighting the enormous organizational efforts, preparations, donations, and widespread public volunteerism they require.
H.E. underlined the importance of ensuring that Husseini platforms remain conscious and purposeful, linking the past to the present, confronting social ills, and promoting the noble values upheld by Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them). H.E. called for avoiding unregulated practices and adhering to religious frameworks, urging careful scholarly preparation for gatherings, with attention to timing, setting, audience, and reliance on credible sources and balanced messaging.
H.E. affirmed that believing women—especially female preachers—carry a great responsibility in embodying the Husseini path through their conduct and moral example, citing Lady Fatimah Al-Zahraa and Lady Zainab (peace be upon them) as timeless models of principled leadership and devotion.
H.E. also emphasized the importance of true reform through setting a righteous example, spreading a culture of optimism and tolerance, initiating change within one’s immediate surroundings, and leveraging social media platforms to promote awareness and knowledge.
Turning to regional affairs, H.E. addressed Iran’s experience in negotiations and the betrayal it faced. H.E. commended the statement of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Sayyid Al-Sistani (may his shadow endure), for condemning the aggression, warning against chaos, and reaffirming the necessity of peaceful and just solutions.
Concluding his remarks, H.E. reiterated the call for broad, informed participation in the upcoming elections, stating that “the compass must point toward righteous candidates—those on lists with clear and realistic programs capable of delivering services and meeting the people’s aspirations.”
