Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives Australian Ambassador, Calls for Stability, Stronger Bilateral Cooperation, and an End to Attacks on Iran and Palestine

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received this morning H.E. Glenn Miles, Ambassador of Australia to Iraq. The meeting delved into political developments in Iraq and the region, as well as the state of bilateral relations between Baghdad and Canberra.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem renewed his call for an immediate halt to the repeated israeli assaults on the Islamic Republic of Iran, stressing that the international community must shoulder its responsibility in pressuring the Israeli entity to cease its aggression, whether targeting countries in the region or the Palestinian people in Gaza. H.E. warned of the grave risks posed by the expansion of the conflict, which could escalate into a broader regional or global crisis with serious consequences for all parties involved.
H.E. underscored the need to return to internationally recognized legal and institutional frameworks as the most effective path for resolving disputes and avoiding further escalation.
Highlighting Iraq’s current climate of political and security stability, H.E. called for reinforcing and sustaining this progress through constitutional means, particularly the upcoming elections, which play a key role in deepening democratic governance and advancing comprehensive development.
On the subject of bilateral ties, Sayyid Al-Hakeem stressed the importance of expanding cooperation between Iraq and Australia—especially in critical sectors such as agriculture and water management—benefiting from Australia’s advanced expertise and capabilities in these fields.
