Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Kurdish Fayli National Alliance, Reaffirms Support, Genuine Representation

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, received a delegation from the Kurdish Fayli National Alliance, led by Sheikh Asadullah Al-Fayli. H.E. extended warm congratulations on the occasion of Eid Al-Ghadir, the "Greatest Eid of Allah," emphasizing the significance of this momentous event, which the Holy Qur’an commemorated as a message of declaration, guardianship, and political leadership for the Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
During the meeting, H.E. highlighted that the message of Ghadir embodies resilience and steadfastness in the face of adversity. He recalled the deep historical and spiritual ties between the late Grand Religious Authority, Imam Sayyid Mohsen Al-Hakeem (may Allah sanctify his soul), and the Kurdish Fayli community—bonds that were carried forward by Martyr of the Niche (may his soul rest in peace) and Aziz Al-Iraq (may he rest in peace). H.E. affirmed that this legacy of support continues and that all discriminatory policies targeting this genuine Iraqi component must be categorically rejected.
H.E. acknowledged the progress made by the Kurdish Fayli community in recent years, while noting that much remains to be done to achieve justice and equitable representation. He stressed that any attempt to exclude members of the Fayli community is an isolated act without legal basis and reaffirmed that the law is sufficient to confront any form of discrimination.
H.E. emphasized the importance of securing Kurdish Fayli representation in both Parliament and government. He pointed out that the dispersion of votes and fragmentation of candidates have led to the marginalization of Fayli voices in Iraq’s political landscape.
He also recalled that the 2005 elections laid the foundation for the current political system and stressed that the upcoming elections should be used as an opportunity to reinforce political stability. H.E. called for unity within the Fayli ranks to ensure that true representatives of the community reach Parliament.
In conclusion, H.E. referenced Iraq’s growing regional roles, from presiding over the Arab Summit and the Arab Economic Development Summit to chairing the G77+China group. He underscored the importance of leveraging this stature to enhance the presence of Iraqi components—including the Kurdish Fayli—in national institutions.
