Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives U.S. Chargé d’Affaires to Baghdad, Renews israeli Attacks on Iran Condemnation
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, received this evening His Excellency Steven Fagin, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. The meeting discussed the latest political developments in Iraq and the wider region, in addition to exploring bilateral relations between Baghdad and Washington and ways to strengthen them in a manner that serves the interests of both nations.
During the meeting, H.E. reiterated his strong condemnation of the Israeli attacks on the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressing deep regret over the civilian casualties, including women and children, resulting from these assaults. H.E. stressed the urgent need to halt this dangerous escalation, warning of the risks of the region sliding into an open conflict that could threaten its security and stability and have dire repercussions for its people and the world at large.
H.E. also noted that Iraq has made significant progress across various political, social, security, and economic fronts, contributing to a state of relative stability. He emphasized that preserving and consolidating this stability is essential for achieving development, reconstruction, and delivering essential services to the Iraqi people.
