    Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives H.E. President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid

    Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, received today His Excellency President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid. The meeting focused on the latest political and security developments in the country, as well as ongoing preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
    Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening political stability and ensuring that elections are held on schedule. They stressed the need for competition based on service-oriented and developmental programs that reflect the aspirations of the Iraqi people. The meeting also underscored the importance of resolving disputes between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government through constitutional dialogue, while advancing efforts to diversify the economy and move away from a rentier-based model.
    H.E. highlighted that the upcoming elections represent a critical juncture for reinforcing lasting stability and achieving comprehensive development. H.E. also stressed the need for joint efforts to safeguard the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.
    On regional developments, both sides agreed on the need to de-escalate tensions and promote dialogue among countries in the region to uphold security and stability. The discussion also addressed the water crisis, with both parties calling for the activation of agreements with Turkey regarding water quotas and the adoption of policies to rationalize water consumption.
