Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Patriarch Louis Sako, Stresses Positive Coexistence, Inclusive Political Representation Importance

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Louis Raphael I Sako, Patriarch of the Chaldean Catholic Church in Iraq and around the world, to discuss key issues related to diversity management, the rights of Iraq’s components, and their political and national entitlements.
During the meeting, Sayyid Al-Hakeem affirmed that Iraq’s religious, ethnic, and cultural diversity is a source of strength and enrichment for the nation—not a cause of division or weakness. H.E. called for moving beyond peaceful coexistence toward a phase of active and positive coexistence rooted in true partnership and meaningful integration among all communities.
H.E. also emphasized the need to unify positions in the face of the challenges confronting the country, and to foster a spirit of collective national effort in seizing political, economic, and social opportunities.
In this context, H.E. encouraged all Iraqi components to participate actively and responsibly in the upcoming elections, noting that these elections represent a crucial opportunity to reinforce political stability, strengthen democratic practice, and ensure fair and inclusive representation for the diverse fabric of Iraqi society.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Sayyid Al-Hakeem expressed deep appreciation for the national role played by the Chaldean Church, under the leadership of Patriarch Sako, in promoting a culture of tolerance and coexistence and supporting Iraqi unity in the face of shared challenges.
