    Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Turkish Ambassador to Baghdad to Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations, Regional Cooperation

    Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, received Turkish Ambassador to Baghdad, H.E. Mr. Anil Bora Inan, for talks on enhancing Iraq–Turkey relations and exploring avenues for deeper cooperation that serve the interests of both friendly nations. 
    His Eminence emphasized the importance of leveraging the two countries’ historical, geographical, and cultural ties to bolster collaboration between Baghdad and Ankara, noting that stronger relations would positively contribute to the region’s overall stability and prosperity.
    H.E. underscored the strategic significance of the Development Road Project as a major international initiative that could boost Iraq’s economic standing and benefit all its citizens with all of their components. 
    Addressing water issues, H.E. called for consideration of Iraq’s harsh climatic conditions and rising temperatures, stressing the need to activate bilateral agreements on water releases to ensure fair distribution and meet the needs of the Iraqi people.
    The discussion also highlighted the importance of energy sector integration, with H.E. urging that current challenges be transformed into shared opportunities, given the vast potential Iraq and Turkey possess in this critical field. 
    On regional affairs, H.E. expressed support for peace and stability in Syria, calling for the empowerment of all communities and safeguarding their rights. He also welcomed the Kurdistan Workers’ Party’s decision to disband and lay down arms, describing it as a positive step toward ending conflict.
    H.E. further stressed the need for joint efforts to combat terrorism in all its forms, emphasizing Iraq’s extensive database and field expertise in countering terrorism and its tactics.
     Concluding the meeting, H.E. highlighted the upcoming elections as a defining moment for Iraq, viewing them as a critical opportunity to consolidate political and social stability while sustaining the nation’s reconstruction and development momentum.
