Sayyid Al-Hakeem to Arab Media Delegation: Upcoming Elections Mark Turning Point Between Instability, Sustainable Stability
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, affirmed that Iraq is experiencing unprecedented stability on multiple fronts, stressing that the upcoming elections represent a decisive moment between lingering instability and long-term sustainable stability.
In a meeting with a media delegation from the Arab Republic of Egypt, which included prominent opinion writers and journalists, H.E. discussed shared Arab concerns, the bilateral relationship between Iraq and Egypt, and the future of media amid rapid technological advancements and shifting landscapes.
H.E. pointed out that Iraq is currently enjoying unparalleled stability in political, social, security, and economic spheres, with its provinces undergoing a sweeping reconstruction campaign that has turned the country into a massive worksite. H.E. highlighted that terrorism had posed a significant challenge, revealing the Iraqis’ need to stand united and underscoring that their true strength lies in their cohesion and solidarity.
Reflecting on the nature of the upcoming elections, H.E. described them as a pivotal moment, much like the 2005 elections that laid the foundation for Iraq’s current political system.
H.E. also underscored the importance of Arab delegations visiting Iraq, as they play a vital role in conveying the country’s true image, especially its ongoing reconstruction and recovery efforts. H.E. emphasized that hosting the Arab Summit in Baghdad has helped clarify Iraq’s capacities and potential.
Additionally, H.E. stressed the need for Arab media to keep pace with modern technological developments, highlighting the importance of maintaining focus on the Palestinian cause and amplifying the plight and suffering of the Palestinian people.
