Sayyid Al-Hakeem Commends Security Forces, Stresses Technological Advancement, Drug Control Priority

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, praised the outstanding security efforts that accompanied the Arab Summit in Baghdad during his meeting with Interior Minister Abdul Ameer Al-Shimmari. H.E. considered these efforts pivotal in showcasing Iraq’s capability to host major international events securely.
H.E. emphasized the importance of advancing government services by strengthening automation and adopting modern technologies, stating, “The Ministry of Interior remains a key partner to citizens from birth to death, and this obligates us to keep pace with global technological progress.”
H.E. further highlighted that enhancing the emergency response sector and boosting relief capacities must be among the ministry’s top priorities, underlining the need to improve response times to urgent situations.
On the issue of drug control, H.E. called for adopting a balanced strategy that “distinguishes between traffickers, who deserve the harshest penalties, and users, who require rehabilitation and treatment programs.”
H.E. also underscored the importance of safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process, affirming that “the role of security forces should focus on ensuring a safe environment where citizens can freely express their choices.”
