Sayyid Al-Hakeem Welcomes PKK Decision to Disband and Abandon Armed Struggle
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, welcomed the announcement by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Turkey to dissolve itself and renounce armed struggle, describing the move as a significant step toward resolving one of the most complex and long-standing issues in the Kurdistan Region and the wider region.
His Eminence noted that this positive development could play a vital role in bolstering stability and advancing peace, particularly given the prolonged tensions and disruptions this crisis has caused in Iraq-Turkey relations over the decades.
H.E. expressed hope that this initiative would mark the beginning of a new era of security, prosperity, and mutual understanding among the peoples and nations of the region.
