Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Youth Are Iraq’s Power, Future, Stability Key
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, participated in the Youth Dialogue Forum organized by the Central Youth Office of Al-Hikma National Movement. During the event, H.E. met with a group of young people, listened to their contributions and ideas, and affirmed that youth represent Iraq’s foremost national wealth and strategic reserve—especially amid the country’s growing population and the abundance of creative, capable young minds ready to lead the future.
H.E. stressed the importance of enhancing the intellectual and cultural awareness of youth to shield them from exploitation that can provoke negative reactions. H.E. emphasized that young people must remain actively engaged in public affairs, willing to sacrifice for their homeland, and take part in shaping their future through their own will and initiatives.
H.E. pointed out that one of the greatest challenges facing youth is developing self-confidence. H.E. encouraged them to think creatively, act effectively, and rely on the right tools to achieve tangible results—reminding them that rights are claimed through conscious determination.
Addressing the upcoming Arab Summit scheduled to take place in Baghdad, H.E. stated that this step reflects Iraq’s recovery and stability, and grants it a central role in handling Arab issues during its presidency of the summit, particularly amid heightened regional tensions and the ongoing aggression in Gaza.
On the subject of elections, H.E. urged young people to motivate society toward broad and informed participation, viewing elections as a crucial entry point for upholding the democratic system and achieving lasting stability. H.E. also called for countering negative campaigns driven by narrow interests.
Reaffirming his commitment to the principles of moderation and centrism, H.E. reiterated Al-Hikma National Movement’s approach in resolving political disputes through dialogue rather than escalation, considering this a vital path to political stability that directly impacts security, economic growth, and development.
H.E. praised the efforts of the Central Youth Office and called for promoting knowledge and culture through youth initiatives and intellectual competitions. H.E. also highlighted the need to address unemployment and fluctuations in oil markets by diversifying income sources through investment in agriculture, industry, tourism, technology, and broader investment opportunities.
H.E. concluded by stating that youth are the cornerstone of state-building, and their success is ultimately Iraq’s success.
