Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Emmanuel Khoshaba, Affirms Christian Community’s Role, Urges Active Electoral Participation
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, received Mr. Emmanuel Khoshaba, Secretary-General of the Assyrian National Party. The meeting focused on political developments in Iraq, the situation of the Christian community, and preparations for the upcoming elections.
His Eminence reaffirmed the significance of the Christian component in Iraq, describing it as an integral and enriching part of the country’s social fabric, with a deep-rooted historical, cultural, and civilizational legacy. H.E. also renewed the call for displaced Christians to voluntarily return home and take part in rebuilding Iraq and supporting its long-term stability.
Regarding the upcoming elections, H.E. emphasized their importance as a turning point toward lasting stability. H.E. called for serious and proactive engagement in the electoral process, encouraging competition based on realistic platforms and inclusive visions that reflect citizens’ aspirations and ensure fair representation for all components of Iraqi society.
