Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Iraq Center for Studies 5th Conference: Shaheed Al-Mihrab – Unique Struggle, Knowledge, Moral Leadership Model
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, took part in the fifth annual conference of the Iraq Center for Studies, held under the theme “Al-Hakeem Family: A Legacy of Knowledge and Jihad,” and titled “The Struggle and Legacy of Shaheed Al-Mihrab, Sayyid Mohammed Baqir Al-Hakeem (may his soul be sanctified).”
His Eminence expressed his appreciation to the organizers for their initiative in shedding light on a remarkable national, intellectual, and spiritual figure in Iraq’s modern history.
In his address, H.E. reflected on the defining qualities of Martyr Al-Hakeem, describing him as an exceptional, multidimensional leader with a rare combination of attributes. H.E. highlighted his disciplined time management, institutional approach to his work, and his deep commitment to sustaining the initiatives he launched—all anchored in complete reliance on Allah, which was evident in both his words and daily conduct.
H.E. emphasized that Martyr Al-Hakeem was not only a scholar and leader but a true mentor who raised a generation of youth who both advanced and were elevated by the movement. Despite immense challenges and threats, Martyr Al-Hakeem remained patient, composed, and resilient, maintaining unwavering commitment to his cause. H.E. recalled his iconic statement: “Even if I stand alone against the tyrant, I will not stop striving to rescue our people from injustice and oppression.”
H.E. added that Martyr Al-Hakeem maintained an unshakable stance against dictatorship, guided by a strategic vision. He deliberately avoided distractions and remained focused on national priorities, committed to both the legitimacy of political engagement and the ethics of struggle. He resorted to armed resistance only after all peaceful options were exhausted, basing his approach on the life and teachings of Prophet Mohammed and the purified Ahl Al-Bayt.
H.E. noted that Martyr Al-Hakeem placed great emphasis on the concept of “Jihad of Explanation” (Jihad Al-Tabyeen)—believing that demanding rights, engaging in politics, rebuilding society, investing in education, and advancing technology are all forms of struggle that serve humanity and uplift the nation.
Concluding his remarks, H.E. underscored Martyr Al-Hakeem’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause, which he upheld as the central issue for the Muslim world—even during Iraq’s most difficult periods. Through this, H.E. said, Martyr Al-Hakeem embodied the spirit of principled leadership and deep dedication to the causes of the ummah.
