Sayyid Al-Hakeem from East Anbar Operations Command: Popular Mobilization Forces Are a Strategic Necessity and the Living Legacy of the Blessed Jihad Fatwa

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, concluded his tour of Anbar Province with a visit to the East Anbar Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), where His Eminence met with Sheikh Taher Al-Khaqani, Commander of the Operations, along with a number of senior leaders, brigade commanders, and courageous fighters.
In his remarks, H.E. praised the pivotal role played by the PMF within Iraq’s broader security apparatus, affirming that the PMF emerged from the blessed defensive jihad fatwa issued by the Supreme Religious Authority—a fatwa that transformed national anxiety over terrorism into an opportunity for resilience and victory. H.E. emphasized that today, the PMF constitutes a strategic necessity for maintaining security and stability across the country.
During the visit, H.E. received a detailed briefing on the responsibilities and operations of the East Anbar Command, expressing deep appreciation for the PMF's tireless efforts and its critical role in addressing the region’s ongoing security challenges.
In conclusion, H.E. stressed the importance of safeguarding the PMF against attempts to undermine it. H.E. called for strengthening ties with Iraqi tribes, modernizing operational databases, enhancing intelligence efforts, and expanding public engagement—measures essential to maintaining trust and continuous communication between the PMF and society.
H.E. wrapped up the visit by expressing pride in every sincere national effort aimed at preserving Iraq’s unity and stability, reaffirming that the Popular Mobilization Forces will remain a foundational pillar in Iraq’s national security framework.
