Sayyid Al-Hakeem: We Place Faith in Youth Awareness, Stress Resolving Crises, Bolster Stability
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, took part in a discussion forum organized by Anbar Provincial Council Member Sheikh Zaid Ali Hamad Al-Shallal in the city of Fallujah. The event was attended by a group of local elites and youth. During the gathering, Sayyid Al-Hakeem addressed several national and regional issues, emphasizing the importance of expanding national dialogue and promoting political awareness among young people.
Speaking on Iraqi-Syrian relations, His Eminence highlighted the deep historical, geographical, demographic, and cultural ties between the two countries. H.E. noted that Iraq shares mutual interests with Syria, which call for a pragmatic approach while being mindful of the complexities surrounding the current situation there. H.E. urged adherence to the official stance of the Iraqi state in handling Syrian developments, underlining that Syria’s stability directly benefits Iraq and the wider region.
H.E. also underscored the urgency of closing the displacement file, stating that the current climate of stability no longer justifies its continuation. H.E. called for socially driven solutions to address lingering sensitivities and details tied to the issue, in a manner that ensures the dignified return of displaced persons to their areas of origin.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem explained that his visit to Anbar falls within a broader effort to maintain social outreach across Iraqi provinces. H.E. praised the province’s notable security, public contentment, and visible pace of reconstruction—developments that reflect a positive transformation worthy of recognition and continued support.
On the political front, H.E. remarked that the current inability to predict the leadership of the three presidencies reflects the vitality of Iraq’s democratic system. H.E. pointed out that the parliamentary framework and diversity of political blocs keep the political landscape open to multiple outcomes, making it essential for the public—especially the youth—to engage actively and thoughtfully by electing the most competent and deserving candidates.
H.E. emphasized the need to reinforce a centrist approach and strengthen cooperation among forces committed to the national project. H.E. attributed part of the trust deficit between citizens and politics to organized campaigns aimed at discrediting public life, along with a general climate of negativity. In response, H.E. urged for political awareness and wise electoral choices as key tools to overcome these challenges.
Furthermore, H.E. warned against giving weight to inflammatory rhetoric originating from outside the country, which aims to sow division and fragment Iraqi society. H.E. stressed that those promoting such narratives must be held accountable by denying them votes and public legitimacy.
In conclusion, H.E. asserted that change begins from within and that rights are earned through initiative and advocacy. H.E. encouraged young people to lead from the front across all fields, affirming that empowering youth is a victory for the Al-Hikma National Movement, which has long been at the forefront of efforts to support and engage youth in both political and social spheres.
