Sayyid Al-Hakeem from Fallujah: Embracing Diversity, Empowering Youth, Keys to Sustainable Stability
As part of his visit to Anbar Province, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, visited the Fallujah District Administration Office, where His Eminence met with local officials in the presence of MP Yahya Al-Mohammadi, the district governor of Fallujah, members of the Anbar Provincial Council, and a group of professionals and civic leaders from the city.
In his remarks, Sayyid Al-Hakeem reflected on the major challenges Iraq has endured—particularly in Fallujah—and praised the collective national efforts that helped restore security, rebuild infrastructure, and bring back a sense of psychological stability to the people. H.E. emphasized the importance of learning from the past without becoming trapped in it, noting that the nation’s experience has demonstrated the dangers of extremism and the value of dialogue and openness.
H.E. stressed that engaging with those who differ is a noble Islamic principle, and that religious and sectarian diversity enriches society rather than burdens it. The real threat, H.E. noted, lies in political sectarianism, which must be confronted through the ballot box by rejecting candidates who promote divisive rhetoric, ensuring that sectarianism no longer serves as an easy tool for electoral gain.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem affirmed that peaceful coexistence is now a tangible reality in Iraqi society, evident in the everyday social interactions among citizens. H.E. called for this spirit of coexistence to be nurtured and expanded across the country. H.E. also emphasized the need to empower young people in various sectors, stating that every step taken to support youth is a victory for the project of wisdom and a reinforcement of state institutions.
H.E. went on to highlight Anbar’s strategic and tribal importance, noting that the province’s stability directly contributes to the stability of Iraq as a whole. H.E. urged for fair and effective political representation for Anbar by electing qualified individuals who can genuinely represent the aspirations of its people on the national stage.
In closing, Sayyid Al-Hakeem underlined the need to resolve the issue of missing persons by completing the work of the specialized committees and making decisive decisions that bring closure to this painful chapter and restore peace of mind to the families of the victims.
