As part of the second day of his visit to Anbar Province, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, visited the University of Fallujah, where His Eminence met with the University President and members of the academic council. H.E. expressed appreciation for the province’s security stability and visible reconstruction progress, while also commending Fallujah’s rich cultural heritage and the academic stature of its university.
During the meeting, Sayyid Al-Hakeem emphasized the vital role of universities in supporting national development by offering scientific research and practical recommendations to tackle core challenges facing the country, particularly in infrastructure and development.
H.E. called for universities to expand their societal engagement by addressing negative social phenomena—such as drug abuse, family disintegration, and rising divorce rates—through academic workshops and by aligning master’s theses and doctoral dissertations with pressing national needs and real-world issues.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem also stressed the importance of academic integration among Iraqi universities and urged stronger partnerships and institutional twinning with international universities. H.E. praised the success stories emerging from Iraqi academic institutions and expressed satisfaction with the diversity at the University of Fallujah, which currently hosts students from 16 different provinces, a spectacle of national unity and social cohesion.
Concluding the visit, Sayyid Al-Hakeem urged academic institutions to keep pace with technological advancements and embrace artificial intelligence to enhance the quality of education. H.E. affirmed that education remains the cornerstone of building a strong state and a resilient society.
