Sayyid Al-Hakeem from Haditha: We Rely on the Tribes to Cement Unity and Stability, and Our Diversity Is a Source of Strength for Our National Identity

As part of the ongoing tour to Anbar Province, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, was hosted at the guesthouse of Sheikh Najm Batal Al-Jughayfi in the district of Haditha, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Dr. Khalid Batal Al-Najm, along with a gathering of tribal leaders and dignitaries from western Anbar.
In the address, His Eminence recalled the honorable national history of Anbar’s tribes and their prominent role in confronting terrorism, particularly during the extremist Daesh invasion. H.E. affirmed that the tribes of western Anbar stood on the front lines in defense of the homeland, faith, and national unity, sacrificing their finest sons as martyrs for the sake of Iraq’s security and stability.
H.E. stressed that Iraq’s diversity is a source of strength and richness, and that all Iraqis unite under the umbrella of an inclusive national identity that embraces every religious, sectarian, and ethnic affiliation.
H.E. further explained that Iraqi tribes are the backbone of the social fabric, acting as a safety valve and a vital pillar in preserving societal cohesion. Tribal traditions do not contradict civil governance; rather, they align with the values of religion and sound customs. The hardships Iraq has endured have elevated the awareness of its people regarding the importance of unity and solidarity, revealing that the sectarianism Iraq suffered was political in nature—not social.
H.E. called for safeguarding the current state of stability and development witnessed in Anbar and other provinces, emphasizing the importance of building upon existing achievements and preventing any regression.
In conclusion, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem clarified that the provincial visits are primarily social in nature, aimed at strengthening communication, deepening national relationships, and delivering positive messages that promote coexistence and the historical bonds among Iraqis.
