    Sayyid Al-Hakeem Offers Condolences on Passing of Pope Francis, Praises His Legacy in Advancing Interfaith Harmony

    Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, visited the Vatican Embassy in Iraq to offer his condolences on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of a spiritual leader whose impact transcended the Christian community to touch all those who uphold human and spiritual values.
    H.E. recalled the historic visit of the late Pope to Iraq, a four-day journey that marked a turning point in promoting peaceful coexistence among the country's religious and social groups. Of particular significance, H.E. noted, was the Pope’s historic meeting with the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Al-Sistani (may his shadow endure), a moment that reflected the profound common values shared between religions.
    H.E. stressed that while the departure of Pope Francis is a moment of grief and loss, it also serves as a renewed call to strengthen the foundations of coexistence and dialogue among followers of all Abrahamic faiths. H.E. emphasized the importance of building a more harmonious and just world based on connection with Almighty Allah and the highest spiritual and moral values.
