Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Business Leaders, Stresses Banking Sector Reform, Expanding Financial Inclusion
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, received a delegation of Iraqi business leaders this morning, led by Mr. Wadie Al-Handal, President of the Iraqi Private Banks League. The meeting focused on the current state of Iraq’s banking sector and pathways for reform to keep pace with the country’s growing developmental and urban expansion.
H.E. listened to the delegation’s insights on improving the banking system, emphasizing the necessity of integrating Iraq’s financial sector with the global banking network to align with international standards and boost investor confidence both domestically and internationally.
H.E. highlighted the importance of expanding financial inclusion by encouraging citizens to deposit their savings into the banking system, transforming this practice into a widespread economic culture that stimulates financial and economic activity across the nation.
H.E. also underscored the need to enhance support for youth-focused and housing-sector loans, given the sector’s potential to invigorate various production and service industries, create job opportunities, and drive sustainable development.
