Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives Republic’s President, Stresses Arab Summit Success, Consolidate Sustainable Stability
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received President of the Republic Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid. The meeting covered the latest political developments in Iraq and the region, as well as ongoing preparations for the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad.
Both sides emphasized the need to complete preparations for the summit across political, logistical, and service-related levels, underlining the importance of unified national efforts to ensure the success of this significant Arab event in a way that reflects Iraq’s standing and its influential role in the Arab and regional context.
They stressed the importance of preserving the political, security, and social stability achieved in the country and transitioning toward a state of sustainable stability that would attract investment, support economic recovery, and reinforce citizens' trust in the state and its institutions.
H.E. and the President also underlined the importance of adhering to the timeline for the upcoming elections, affirming that Iraq has previously conducted electoral milestones under more difficult circumstances. They agreed that the forthcoming elections will mark a turning point in the transition from instability to lasting and institutional stability.
On the regional level, both sides stressed the importance of stabilizing the situation in Syria and ensuring that all components of the Syrian people are involved in shaping their political future. They also highlighted the significance of ongoing regional dialogues in reinforcing security and stability on both the regional and international levels.
