Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives Prime Minister, Discusses Iraq Developments, Upcoming National Milestones

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani for a meeting to exchange views on the latest developments in Iraq, upcoming national entitlements, and the broader regional landscape.
At the outset of the meeting, His Eminence and the Prime Minister shared a unified vision on the importance of preserving the political, social, and security stability achieved so far. His Eminence emphasized that these accomplishments would not have been possible without the sacrifices of the Iraqi people from all communities, stressing that the responsibility to maintain this stability is a shared one among the government, political forces, and all segments of society.
H.E. praised the government’s ongoing efforts in inaugurating new projects and launching additional initiatives, while also highlighting the need to address delayed projects and support provincial development plans with the necessary funding to keep the momentum of nationwide development.
The meeting also touched on Iraq’s foreign relations with neighboring and regional countries, as well as the broader international community. Both sides affirmed the success of the Arab Summit and the elevated level of participation as indicators of Iraq’s positive diplomatic engagement based on mutual interests and the safeguarding of national sovereignty.
On the economic front, H.E. underscored the importance of diversifying sources of national income and activating the productive sectors to reduce dependency on oil and mitigate the effects of its price fluctuations. H.E. also stressed the need for thorough preparations to meet the demands of the upcoming summer season.
H.E. welcomed the government's decision to set November 11 as the date for the upcoming parliamentary elections, describing it as a significant step in strengthening Iraq’s democratic path and a constitutional entitlement that must be approached with high responsibility.
