Sayyid Al-Hakeem Underscores the Importance of National Unity and Engagement with Iraqi Tribes During Meeting with Salah Al-Din Tribal Leaders

In a gathering hosted at the guesthouse of MP Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al-Jubouri (Abu Mazen), Head of the National Al-Jamaheer Party, and attended by Governor Badr Mahmoud Al-Fahl, His Eminence Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, met with a large group of tribal sheikhs and dignitaries from Salah Al-Din province.
During the meeting, Sayyid Al-Hakeem recalled the historic relationship between Iraqi tribes and the religious leadership of Imam Sayyid Mohsen Al-Hakeem (may his soul be sanctified), emphasizing the need to preserve shared interests and the deep-rooted connection to Iraq’s generous land. H.E. stressed that national unity, solidarity among Iraqis, and brotherhood must remain the core values to uphold.
H.E. pointed out that sectarianism has had harmful effects on Iraqi society but reaffirmed that it is not a social trait—it is a political phenomenon. This, he said, is proven by the high number of inter-sect marriages even at the height of sectarian tensions, reflecting the Iraqi people's inherent ability to overcome divisions.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem described such visits as essential to fostering communication and cohesion among Iraq’s diverse communities within a unified national framework. H.E. noted that Iraq is currently experiencing unprecedented levels of political, social, security, economic, and developmental stability.
In conclusion, Sayyid Al-Hakeem called for a focus on optimism and positive achievements, stating that Iraq is increasingly being seen by the world as a rising nation. H.E. emphasized the need to counter divisive rhetoric and strengthen Iraq’s ties with its regional and international surroundings in a way that benefits the country and its people.
