Sayyid Al-Hakeem’s Visit to Salah Al-Din Underscores Resolving Displacement File Urgency to Reinforce National Unity

During a press conference held at the Salah Al-Din Governorate headquarters following his meeting with local government officials, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, affirmed that the visit aimed to explore both the province’s challenges and its success stories. H.E. noted that the timing coincides with the anniversary of Iraq’s democratic emergence.
His Eminence highlighted that Salah Al-Din has paid a heavy price, offering 18,000 martyrs and enduring the hardships of terrorism. H.E. stressed the need to close the chapter of displacement and bring an end to this painful period. H.E. also praised the resumption of vital projects in the service, health, and education sectors and called for honoring the legacy of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.
Addressing the broader national context, Sayyid Al-Hakeem emphasized the importance of national unity in overcoming current challenges. H.E. called for active participation in the upcoming elections and for voters to choose candidates capable of leading the country through the next stage—especially in light of the major shifts taking place in the region and across the world.
H.E. noted that Salah Al-Din has witnessed notable improvements across various sectors compared to previous years. H.E. reaffirmed that provincial councils should prioritize citizen services and avoid political infighting. In particular, he criticized the "50% + 1" formula, describing it as an obstacle to sustainable development.
In closing, Sayyid Al-Hakeem renewed his call to resolve the issue of displaced persons and to settle internal disputes within the framework of a united nation—one that embraces all Iraqis and lays the foundation for a stable and prosperous future.
