Sayyid Al-Hakeem Visits Salah Al-Din Province, Highlights Stability Role, Diversity in Advancing Development

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, began his tour of Salah Al-Din Province with a meeting that included Governor Badr Mahmoud Al-Fahl, his deputies, several members of the Provincial Council, heads of administrative units, and directors of service departments. The visit coincided with the anniversary of Iraq’s democratic transition. During the gathering, His Eminence listened to participants’ remarks and emphasized several key points.
H.E. noted that while Iraq has endured the scourge of terrorism in the past, it now enjoys strong immunity against it. H.E. stressed that social recovery forms the essential foundation for achieving lasting security, political stability, economic growth, and ultimately, prosperity and public satisfaction.
Speaking about Salah Al-Din, H.E. described it as a model of sectarian and cultural diversity, underscoring the need to preserve unity and coexistence among its communities. H.E. affirmed that diversity should not be viewed as a threat but rather as a source of strength for society. H.E. called on all parties to reject sectarian and racist rhetoric that could undermine social peace. Furthermore, H.E. highlighted the province’s rich agricultural, industrial, and touristic resources, urging greater promotion of its tourism potential.
Addressing the province’s improved security, H.E. emphasized the importance of maintaining this stability while resolving the displacement crisis and facilitating the return of displaced families to their areas. H.E. underscored the need for accountability for past wrongdoings but cautioned against assigning collective blame to entire communities or tribes, advocating for fair and just approaches to resolving social grievances.
Regarding the Provincial Council, Sayyid Al-Hakeem stressed the importance of its service-oriented role, encouraging members to prioritize public services over political disputes. H.E. reiterated the need to grant local governments full authority, describing decentralization as a vital gain for provinces and their citizens. H.E. emphasized that competition in serving the people is the most direct path to the pleasure of Allah, the Exalted.
H.E. also addressed the issue of stalled projects, calling for diversified income sources through the involvement of the private sector and investors. H.E. proposed forming fieldwork teams to monitor projects on the ground rather than relying solely on written reports. In conclusion, H.E. stressed the importance of managing electoral competition wisely and focusing on selecting the most competent and capable individuals for future leadership roles.
