Sayyid Al-Hakeem Discusses Iraqi, Regional Political Developments with Adil Abdul-Mahdi, Emphasizes Stability, Upcoming Elections
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met with former Prime Minister Dr. Adil Abdul-Mahdi to review the evolving political landscape in Iraq and the broader region, along with the upcoming national obligations. The discussion highlighted the necessity of safeguarding the current state of stability across security, social, and economic levels—stressing that this stability is a shared national priority and a collective responsibility.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem emphasized the importance of enhancing and sustaining this stability in a way that genuinely serves the interests of the Iraqi people.
H.E. also reaffirmed the need to hold the upcoming elections on time, noting that Iraq has successfully conducted elections under even more challenging conditions in the past. H.E. stated that the next electoral round will be decisive in determining whether the country moves toward stability or instability.
On the regional front, Sayyid Al-Hakeem once again condemned the renewed aggression on the Gaza Strip and called on the international community to urgently intervene to halt these attacks and fulfill its responsibilities in confronting the genocide being inflicted upon the Palestinian people.
