Ramadan Evening with Popular Mobilization Forces: Sayyid Al-Hakeem Calls for Willpower and Embracing Forgiveness
In a blessed Ramadan evening, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, attended an iftar banquet hosted by Brigade 133 of the Popular Mobilization Forces. The gathering brought together several officers and personnel in a spirit of unity and patriotism. H.E. expressed deep appreciation and pride for the sacrifices of Iraq’s armed forces, urging all to seize the remaining days and nights of the holy month as a precious opportunity for forgiveness and emancipation from the fire.
In his remarks, H.E. emphasized that Ramadan is a month of self-discipline and willpower. Fasting, H.E. explained, is a divine exercise in self-control and mastery over desires and temptations. H.E. stressed that willpower is the essence of life and the cornerstone of success, noting that a determined spirit is what sets apart those who succeed across all walks of life.
H.E. also reflected on the legacy of Shaheed Al-Mihrab (may his soul be sanctified), presenting him as a living example of unwavering resolve and steadfast will. H.E. stated, “Shaheed Al-Mihrab was the embodiment of unbreakable will. He chose to resist tyranny and worked tirelessly to bring down the former regime, seeking only Allah’s pleasure. The hardships he faced never weakened his resolve—they only deepened his commitment to the cause of liberating the Iraqi people.”
H.E. noted that following his return to Iraq, Martyr of the Pulpit dedicated himself tirelessly to guiding the people, rallying them around the religious authority, and calling for unity and cohesion. H.E. emphasized the value of time, urging people to invest it in reading, learning, and worship, warning against neglecting time, a trust that must be used to improve oneself and engage in righteous deeds.
H.E. concluded by stressing the importance of ending this holy month with renewed determination and resolve. H.E. encouraged everyone to use this sacred time as a springboard for positive change, demonstrating our true commitment to both our national and spiritual values.
