Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Grand Imam of Al-Azhar
Concluding His Eminence's visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, met with the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb. During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening unity and integration among Muslims, highlighting the need to uphold shared Islamic values in the face of extremist ideologies that threaten societal stability.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem commended Al-Azhar’s historic role in promoting moderate and centrist Islamic thought, stressing the importance of bridging gaps between different Islamic schools of thought to enhance Muslim unity. Sayyid Al-Hakeem also underscored the necessity of instilling the true and balanced teachings of Islam in future generations to safeguard them against ideological and moral distortions that may lead to doctrinal deviation.
The discussion also covered regional developments, with Sayyid Al-Hakeem reiterating the significance of embracing moderate perspectives to counteract violence and extremism while fostering peace and stability in the Muslim world.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Sayyid Al-Hakeem reaffirmed Iraq’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent state on their entire land, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
