Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets President El-Sisi, Commends Egypt's Support for Palestinian Cause
At the outset of His Eminence's visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. His Eminence expressed deep appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast stance in supporting the Palestinian cause, reaffirming support for Egypt’s leadership and people in preventing the displacement of the Palestinian people and preserving the essence of the Palestinian cause by upholding Palestinian national sovereignty.
On bilateral relations, H.E. discussed with President El-Sisi the development of Iraq-Egypt ties and ways to strengthen and deepen them. H.E. expressed satisfaction with the continuous progress in relations between the two brotherly nations, particularly in reconstruction projects. Additionally, H.E. praised the Iraqi government's efforts in facilitating the work of Egyptian companies, which have demonstrated competence in executing infrastructure development projects in Iraq.
On regional matters, H.E. emphasized Iraq’s commitment to regional stability, advocating for the resolution of disputes and the rapprochement of perspectives to foster security, prosperity, and development. H.E. underscored the importance of maintaining Syria’s territorial unity and sovereignty, ensuring that the Syrian people have the opportunity to determine their future freely. Furthermore, H.E. highlighted the need to support Lebanon’s state institutions and keep Lebanon away from conflicts and political score-settling.
H.E. also reiterated keen interest in the success of the upcoming Arab League Summit, set to be hosted by Baghdad in the coming months. H.E. stressed the importance of strengthening the foundations of Arab cooperation and establishing an integrated Arab economic and political framework that secures the region’s position amid rapid global changes. Given the Arab world's rich human and natural resources and strategic location, H.E. affirmed that the region is well-positioned to manage challenges, create opportunities, and ensure a prosperous future for its people.
