Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Iraqi Contractors' Union Delegation and Emphasizes the Importance of a Diversified Economy
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met with a delegation from the Iraqi Contractors' Union, led by Mr. Ali Sanafi. His Eminence listened to the current state of the union's work and the challenges faced in developing Iraq's contracting sector.
H.E. emphasized the need for Iraq to transition from a rentier state reliant on a single income source to a diversified economy driven by productive sectors such as agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and technology.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem also called for the timely payment of contractors' dues, highlighting its importance on par with salaries and farmers' payments. H.E. noted that settling these dues would create job opportunities, reduce unemployment, and alleviate pressure on the government.
Concluding the meeting, H.E. stressed the importance of supporting the contracting sector by addressing financial and administrative obstacles, which would boost economic development and provide job opportunities for Iraqi youth.
