Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Iraq’s Stability is Key to Regional Stability – A Call to Support Dhi Qar’s Reconstruction

During Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, visit to Al-Islah District in Dhi Qar Province, His Eminence was received as an honored guest at the guesthouse of Sheikh Sabah Badr Al-Rumaidh, where H.E. met with sheikhs and dignitaries of the Bu Salih tribe and other clans. The gathering reflected on a shared history of struggle against dictatorship and contributions to building the new Iraq, reinforcing deep-rooted relationships spanning decades.
H.E. highlighted the challenges Iraq has faced and continues to confront, emphasizing that Iraq’s strategic location at the heart of the Middle East, coupled with its rich civilizational heritage, makes it a pivotal player in regional dynamics. H.E. stressed that Iraq’s stability is fundamental to regional stability, citing past experiences such as the fight against ISIS, whose repercussions extended beyond Iraq to the entire region and the world.
H.E. urged for a realistic assessment of Iraq’s progress within the context of the hardships it has endured, advocating for comparisons with nations that have faced similar struggles rather than those with entirely different circumstances.
Furthermore, H.E. called for preserving the positive developments in Dhi Qar and across Iraq, particularly through strengthening social cohesion and advancing reconstruction efforts. H.E. also underscored the collective responsibility of Iraqi tribes and security forces in supporting local governance to sustain the momentum of development and progress for the benefit of the province and the nation as a whole.
