Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Religious Authority’s Statement Following UN Secretary-General's Representative Meeting Provides Iraq’s Roadmap

During the periodic meeting of the Advisory Council of Al-Hikma National Movement, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, extended condolences on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Lady Fatimah Al-Zahra (peace be upon her). H.E. also addressed various topics on the agenda, emphasizing the importance of the statement by His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Al-Sistani (may his shadow endure), describing it as a roadmap for addressing Iraq's current situation and navigating regional developments.
H.E. highlighted Iraq's recovery after decades of war and destruction, noting the completion of the International Coalition’s mission and the UNAMI mission within a defined timeline. H.E. acknowledged ongoing efforts to restore Iraq’s sovereignty and international standing.
H.E. reiterated the importance of Iraq’s continued support for the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples and its hospitality toward displaced Lebanese citizens, emphasizing the significance of humanitarian, political, and media support during these crises.
Commending the successful election of the Speaker of Parliament, His Eminence noted its role in enhancing political stability. H.E. stressed the necessity of conducting a national census, which would provide a critical database for federal and local governments to develop strategic plans addressing the needs of educational, health, social, and developmental sectors. H.E. encouraged broad participation and accurate responses during the census process.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem discussed the impact of U.S. elections on Iraq and the broader Middle East, as well as the importance of upcoming Iraqi electoral milestones. H.E. called for robust public engagement, internal cohesion, and continuous coordination within the movement. His Eminence underscored that his visits to various provinces aim to assess their realities and work toward resolving challenges for the benefit of their citizens.
H.E. reaffirmed that serving citizens remains the core philosophy of the Al-Hikma National Movement. His Eminence emphasized the development of the banking system to reduce reliance on cash and called for effective media promotion of achieved milestones. Regarding the election law, he clarified that it aims not to dominate but to balance votes and parliamentary seats. H.E. noted that the current law, a product of extensive deliberation, has yet to be implemented in national parliamentary elections.
