Sayyid Al-Hakeem Congratulates Masoud Barzani on Successful Kurdistan Elections, Calls for New Speaker of Parliament Election
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with Mr. Masoud Barzani, leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, to discuss the political landscape in Iraq and the region. H.E. extended his congratulations on the success of the parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region, noting that this electoral success adds to the strength of Iraq's democratic political system.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem also emphasized the importance of forming a new government in the Kurdistan Region to contribute to Iraq’s overall stability and reiterated the goal of achieving long-term political, social, and security stability across Iraq.
Both leaders agreed on the necessity of electing a new Speaker of Parliament to reassure all components of society about their role in political decision-making and to fill this essential leadership position. They further stressed the importance of preserving Iraq's sovereignty, minimizing breaches from any source, and using legal channels to identify and address these issues effectively.
