Sayyid Al-Hakeem receives Dr. Barham Salih, discusses political developments
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with former President Dr. Barham Salih. During their meeting, they exchanged views on the latest political developments in Iraq and the region. Both sides praised the efforts that have contributed to the current political, social, and security stability, and called for strengthening the factors that led to this stability to transform it into a lasting peace.
Regarding the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, H.E. emphasized the importance of using the constitution to resolve outstanding issues. H.E. also commended the understanding that helped approve the budget schedules and resolve the issue of salaries for regional employees.
H.E. further stressed the importance of maintaining Iraq's openness to the Arab, regional, and international environment. H.E. noted that the region's stability depends on Iraq's stability and called for continuous dialogue, integration of interests, and enabling the people of the region to benefit from their countries' resources.
