Sayyid Al-Hakeem: History Will Not Overlook Iraqi People’s Heroism and Sacrifices

In the center of Al-Diwaniyah Governorate, at the guesthouse of Sheikh Habeeb Al-Zughair Al-Marsoul Al Bu Salah Al-Gharawi, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with a large gathering of dignitaries, sheikhs, and leaders from Al-Diwaniyah. His Eminence highlighted the importance of maintaining connections with governorates and Iraqi tribes and reflected on the historical moments shared in confronting dictatorship and combating terrorism.
H.E. stated that Iraq has overcome severe crises, including societal challenges and internal divisions. H.E. emphasized that sectarianism in Iraq is political, not societal. If a tribal leader engages in sectarian behavior, it affects part of his tribe due to the sectarian diversity within a single tribe or even within a single household. H.E. highlighted that Iraqis are destined to coexist with each other and reminded of agendas that sought to disrupt life in the country but failed in their attempts.
H.E. noted that the intensity of political confrontation has significantly decreased and stressed the need to consider the changing regional and international perspectives on Iraq and its positive developments. H.E. acknowledged the role of the followers of the Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in this context.
H.E. emphasized that history will not overlook the heroism and sacrifices of the Iraqi people, and reiterated that the security of the region is tied to the security of Iraq. H.E. described the terrorism that afflicted Iraq as well-planned and supported politically and media-wise.
H.E. called attention to the development project and the economic opportunities it offers by connecting East to West, highlighting its implications for Iraq’s stability and security. H.E. also noted that project execution today is different from the past, with earlier timelines, and attributed this progress to overcoming previous obstacles. H.E. stated that today’s interests are tied to stability and a general move towards reconstruction, with new blood and renewed efforts to achieve the desired service goals. H.E. urged support for and encouragement of officials to deliver their best.
On the issue of water scarcity, Sayyid Al-Hakeem renewed his call for rationalizing usage and employing modern irrigation techniques. H.E. stressed the importance of linking water management with other sectors to maximize benefits for Iraq, explaining that the agreements in place are designed to solve Iraq’s issues systematically and scientifically, with significant attention from the Prime Minister.
