Sayyid Al-Hakeem discusses bilateral ties, calls to invest Iraq’s unprecedented stability
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Baghdad, His Excellency Stephen Hickey, and discussed developments in the Iraqi, regional, and international political landscape and avenues to strengthen bilateral ties between Iraq and Britain
His Eminence underscored the importance of capitalizing on Iraq's opportunities for reconstruction and development and the critical need for Iraq's stability for regional security, as proven by experience, as well as highlighting the turmoil caused by ISIS and its regional and global repercussions.
H.E. illustrated that Iraq is witnessing unprecedented security, political, and social stability, coupled with extensive openness on regional and international fronts. H.E. urged all parties to contribute to enhancing this stability and transforming it into lasting peace for the benefit of all. H.E. also expressed gratitude for Britain's funding of certain infrastructure projects in Iraq through favorable loans.
Furthermore, H.E. reiterated the plea to the international community for immediate intervention in the Gaza crisis to halt the unjust aggression against the Palestinian people and uphold Security Council resolutions.
