Sayyid Al-Hakeem meets Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Saudi Arabia
During His Eminence's visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with the Crown Prince of the sisterly Kingdom, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The two parties exchanged views on the political developments in Iraq and the region and discussed ways to enhance relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples. H.E. emphasized the importance of maintaining political and economic openness for Iraq within its Arab and Islamic surroundings.
H.E. stressed the need to strengthen commonalities among the countries of the region, stating that Iraq's stability positively impacts the security and safety of the region, and called for investing in the promising opportunities offered by Iraq in the field of reconstruction and development as well as the importance of a role for the Kingdom in the urban renaissance witnessed by Iraq.
Regarding the Gaza crisis, Sayyid Al-Hakeem called for the implementation of the Security Council's decision to halt the war and commence relief efforts for the displaced and the reconstruction of the region.
H.E. emphasized the importance of continuing dialogue among the region's factions and Iraq's desire to conclude the missions of the international coalition against ISIS, stating that Iraq seeks to transition to a bilateral relationship with some countries based on mutual interests and respect for sovereignty.
H.E. also called for the exchange of experiences in confronting challenges such as climate change and foreign ideas affecting our Arab and Islamic societies, and for dialogue at the social and religious levels to develop a common vision for addressing these challenges. Moreover, H.E. wished for Saudi Arabias further brilliance and prosperity.
