Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Iraqi Tribes Essential for Societal Cohesion, Confront Challenges
H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, opened his tour of Al-Diwaniyah Governorate with a visit to the Al-Ghanim guesthouse in Sumer district, to offer condolences on the passing of Sheikh Shakheer Al Farhoud Al-Ghanmi (may Allah have mercy on him), where H.E. met with a gathering of sheikhs and dignitaries.
In his remarks, H.E. pointed to the sacrifices of the Iraqi tribes, commending their history and contributions, affirming that the tribes represent the underlying structure of Iraqi social reality and the source of its cohesion, and calling for looking to the past to draw lessons while keeping an eye on the future in order to achieve the wellbeing of the Iraqi people.
H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem explained the nature of Iraq's civilizational heritage, given the presence of the shrines of the prophets there, noting that Iraq holds both the beginning and the end of history, passing through the immaculate Imams (PBUT), through the path of reform leading to Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his noble reappearance), affirming that the roles assigned to this land are evidence of a divine secret, and of the importance and uniqueness of Iraqi land.
H.E. pointed to the security and social challenges Iraq endured in the previous period, which have now become a thing of the past, explaining Iraq's exposure to the impact of ongoing regional events, and expressing his hope that the crisis would end and normalcy would return. H.E. noted that the economic crisis requires patience and perseverance through hardship, as well as an understanding of the nature of the problem, which was beyond the control of Iraqis, pointing out that the government of Mr. Ali Al-Zaidi came with a new vision based on focusing on a specific governorate and a specific sector, while taking the poorest governorates into consideration in preparing the budget. H.E. expressed his hope that Al-Diwaniyah would witness major urban development and grow into a great city, in keeping with its long history.
