Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives Kurdistan Democratic Delegation, Affirms Stability, Expedite President Election, Government Formation
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received this morning at His office a delegation from the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc, headed by Mr. Shakhawan Abdullah.
The meeting discussed recent political developments in Iraq and the region, along with pathways to resolve pending political entitlements, foremost among them the election of the President of the Republic and the formation of the upcoming government.
His Eminence highlighted the need to unify efforts to safeguard the stability achieved in recent years, reiterating the call to end the ongoing conflict in the region and restore calm. H.E. affirmed that dialogue and negotiation remain the most effective means to address unresolved issues when there is genuine political will.
On the role of the Iraqi Parliament, H.E. stressed the importance of activating its oversight function and advancing the passage of key legislation that directly supports the structure of the Iraqi state and serves the interests of its people.
