Sayyid Al-Hakeem Calls to Promote Productive Industrial, Agricultural, Tourism, Investment, and Technology Sectors
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met with a group of protestors from Babylon Governorate who were demanding job opportunities, and after hearing their concerns and contributions, His Eminence highlighted that Iraq is affected by the region's circumstances and developments.
H.E. stated that the primary factor influencing Iraq is the fluctuation in oil prices, which is closely linked to economic growth and recession, indicating that the budget was based on an oil price of $80, leading to financial losses and an economic crisis when oil prices dropped.
H.E. affirmed priorities which include providing salaries and advancing key projects or those with high completion rates. H.E. stressed the need to support the private sector and create employment opportunities. H.E. emphasized transitioning from a rentier state and activating productive sectors (agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and technology). Moreover, H.E. illustrated that the state has reached a point of employee saturation, making it essential to utilize the retirement law, which guarantees pensions for public sector employees and others, while ensuring fairness in recruitment as it directly impacts people's livelihoods and needs.
