Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives President Dr. Abdul Jamal Rashid
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, met with His Excellency, President of the Republic Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, to discuss the latest political developments in Iraq and the region. His Eminence emphasized the need to rely on constitutional and legal frameworks to resolve outstanding issues.
H.E. reaffirmed his support for the government's developmental and service-oriented path and called for a unified approach to combating corruption. H.E. highlighted the importance of tackling corruption through a clear strategy focused on cutting off its sources, implementing modern automation, and preventing those with ill intentions from accessing public funds.
H.E. renewed his call for a decision on the position of Speaker of Parliament, stressing the responsibility of the Sunni representatives, along with His Excellency, to agree on a qualified and deserving candidate for the Speaker role. H.E. emphasized that the distribution of the three presidencies was not arbitrary but intended to ensure everyone's participation in the political process and decision-making.
Regarding the situation in Gaza, H.E. reiterated the urgent need to end the unjust war and praised Iraq’s firm and clear stance, whether at the religious, governmental, political, or popular levels, in defending the Palestinian people and addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
